The Beatles Project
Metal Art by m.e. franco of metals brew
It's been a while since my last post but I have been very busy on finishing Paul McCartney. I am now in the painting process as you can see. I've spent several hours cleaning all of the metal with thinner to clean any dirt and rust before I apply any paint. Note: If you look at the last picture you will notice how the frame is above the ground with a cast shadow below it. I thought it would be very interesting to designed a frame that will visually float away from the wall when mounted. Whats even neater about this frame is that any light source that hits it will form a cast shadow against the wall and make it even more appealing to the viewers eye.
The photo in the middle is me applying some paint on the frame. I am applying several coats of gloss black. It takes a number of days to allow the paint to dry and re-coat to achieve a nice glossy appearance. The photo above shows both Paul and the frame painted in black. The black is painted on the backside of Paul. The front will be painted white and I will post more photos when I get him started. I hope you will check back soon for updates on my Beatles metal art project.
Thanks,
m.e. franco
